5,764 people are infected with the H1N1 virus in America? Only 292 are infected in Japan,?
but authorities have already closed all of the schools in Japan, because of their number. Why isn't America taking this virus more seriously, like everywhere else?

the virus isn't that serious, its no worse than the normal flu.
2 :
because its not deadly anymore. its not as serious as it was first thought. and wrong category.

Because, Japan has a land mass of 377,873 km squared, and a population of 127,000,000, cramming about 400 people into every square kilometer. On the other hand, the United States has a land mass of 9,826,630 km squared and a population of about 306,000,000 placing about 31 people in every square kilometer. So, in other words, if a person was infected in Japan, the disease would spread more easily because of the population density. It's kinda like being in a crowded room with one sick person, or being in the same room but only with 3 or 4 people with one sick person. Anyways, the US is slowly taking the precautions, and once H1N1 becomes a full-out pandemic, schools will close in highly populated areas. America is taking major precautions, so don't worry.

honey Your numbers are wrong, there has not been 5,764 cases of H1n1,they are looking for many cases of people getting infected and didn't travel to one of the states where people have passed away, and even that is changing daily. if it has been then yes we would be on lock down now. The numbers are being closely watched, state wide, and by the CDC. It is however a dangerous strain of the flu, the other thing is it can kill, just like the reg. strains of flu can be lethal to babies, elderly, an immune suppressed people. It can even kill healthy people, I have seen it because I work in the health field. Japan and other countries do not have the means readily available, like we do, and will come this fall, when the flu vaccine will be distributed. so for them the next best thing would be to sanitize, and contain/control it as much as possible. The bad part is not many people get sick with the flu during the summer, particles do not travel as fast while its raining, or humid, it falls to the ground, and you got less of a chance of someone sneezing in a room and it reaching your nose, mouth, eyes. during the fall and winter, the dry air and wind will actually help it reach you. inside and outside. picture the episode in 1918. people died of the flue during the spring/summer, but when it came back around during the fall/winter, people were dropping like flies. and thats fact. I just don't understand how some people just brush things under the carpet and expect it to go away. but it is not a pandemic yet............ honeychild.

I think you can learn photography with friends and clubs than going to school. As the Japanese language could be of an issue if you dont know the language. However I'm a photographer recently moved to Japan. Keep in touch we may have interest share while you are in Tokyo. My gallery could be reached in this url: http://www.camera-friendly.com

Do girls in Japan really wear those school uniforms you find in anime

They do! They're based on Western naval uniforms.

Most public and private high schools and junior highs in Japan require students to wear a uniform, but it's a bit more plain than what you see in anime. The color scheme is more conservative, for one. One of the freedoms students get to enjoy when they enter college is liberation from the uniform. http://www.kodairanishi-h.metro.tokyo.jp/fuzoku/seifuku.html http://www.seihuku-zukan.com/zukan/kt/tk/197/6.jpg http://www.seihuku-zukan.com/zukan/kt/tk/35/2.jpg http://www.seihuku-zukan.com/zukan/kt/tk/223/2.jpg The sailor suits that you see for girls in older anime has been out of style for a while, but they are still around. The girls skirt has been above knee short for the past 15-20 years, but the skirt length in most anime is very exaggerated.

yeah they do
4 :
Yes.
5 :
They do, but most of them ive seen havent been quiet as short as say kagome's is. My friend who came from japan as an exchange student showed me pictures of her in her school uniform and hers went down to her kness. ^.^ I think they are really cute haha
6 :
Yes, but skirts in real life are a bit longer.

I'm thinking about visiting Japan when I get done with school

I'm thinking about visiting Japan when I get done with school?
I heard it's beautiful over there. I'm still in high school now and I'm going to college, so it's still a long way away from now. But is there anything particular I should know about their culture before I go? I don't want to seem like a total idiot when I go there, and not know anything about them. So enlighten me.

Unless you're Japanese it won't matter much. As a society, they tend to be very racist and xenophobic. Most will probably be polite to you, but that's about it. Even people that have lived there for years will still be treated as though they're just tourists if they aren't Japanese. I'd suggest you just learn their greeting customs, and if you don't speak Japanese, some basic phrases that you can see yourself needing. And no, I don't hate the Japanese. This is just the way it is. The United Nations even did a study on Japanese xenophobia. "In 2005, a United Nations special rapporteur on racism and xenophobia expressed concerns about "deep and profound" racism in Japan and insufficient government recognition of the problem.

Visiting a country means that you want to see the country and know about it , going to a country you know about , will take away the fun and adventure of it.
