hey i found somewhere from net that girls in japan in high school wear skirt above 8 to 12 cm knee and plated skirt....is it that type of uniform can u see in japan ?.........or in MBA /engineering girls also wear skirt above 10 to 12 cm to knee is it?

Yes, some girls do that, it is Truly school uniform but student can choose/change its size for themselves off course. Then young girls make effort to somehow attract opposite sex. Although there is a school rules in each school. Some school are not strict but others. I know schools which measure their student's length of skirt for not allowing remodeled uniform. Schools themselves embarrasses for doing that though because it is seen just as a reflection of its school value. So we see student in those irregular fashion as SUCH student. Only SUCH guys are attracted. (There can be a rare exception though.) At the same time, long skirt uniform end up in same result. It is just a story of down of moral standard. Most of elderly don't take it as good. Then it is not suitable for business as long as she is efficient.

It depends on the school attire code. Some have ,some not. If you were a script writer in japan, it'd be easiest way to express your young actress is a hi' school student to put her in those uniforms.
