Japan requires a bachelors degree in certain disciplines in English teaching. Go to Japan sites and check out to see what schools are hiring. You may be granted a 1 or 3 year teaching visa. You need a passport, but not necessarily know Japanese language. Use the internet, the answers are there.

Google: JET Program You don't need a degree in anything, just speaking a native english speaker. That program answers all your questions. By the way, please visit my website. I run a website that's dedicated to Japanese Pop Culture. This covers anime, manga, games, music, fashion, and more. Please check it out and suggest it to your friends if you like it :) Don't forget to bookmark us and visit us everyday too! http://www.michaeltang.net Thanks~

Check with your local college job boards and online. You should be able to teach English as a second language in Japan. Also check out working for American companies that have schools for the American employees working in Japan. Often military bases in foreign countries are looking for American teachers to teach. Best of luck!

www.jetprogramme.org Teaching English as a second language mostly in Junior high or high schools, but some JETs teach in primary and even adult classes too. You cannot dictate where are you placed, but you can make a request when you apply. If you want to have a say in where you teach, try private language schools or international schools in larger cities. You might find what you are looking for here: www.gaijinpot.com/
