By studying abroad, I'm guessing you mean as a transfer student. I dont think so, well it depends on your school, but I'm in highschool and our transfer students are all seniors because they still have to get their education in their home country and pass a bunch of English speaking classes before they can come here, but its towards the middle/end of the year when they transfer when all their school work is done and they are ready for college next year. We have transfer students from Japan and Turkey, which is pretty cool. I'm friends with the girl from Japan, besides the accent, she speaks English fluently which must have been a challenge since she was born and raised in Japan. If you're really looking to transfer to Japan, I suggest seeing if theres any outside of school organizations that let young kids do things like that and taking a bunch of Japanese classes. =)
