When would be a good time to live in a Guesthouse in Japan? Like, when going to school? Or does it matter

When would be a good time to live in a Guesthouse in Japan? Like, when going to school? Or does it matter?
I heard that you don't have an address when you live in a Guesthouse. So, what sort of situation would be suitable for living in a Guesthouse? Would a long-term stay be okay? Thanks! Neither of you really know how to read a question, do you?

Stay calm and speak English if you can.

You can't stay in Japan for more than 90 days (if you are from US) without a visa. So you can't live in a guesthouse so long, anyway.
