I am studying representations of Australia at school as well as Australian ancient and modern history. *Please can people who live in Australia, have lived in Australia or have visited Australia state that they have done so or not answer the question (sorry!!!)* as I am interested in looking at what a person who is not familiar with Australia thinks, knows or understands about the country, its citizens, animals, etc. Thanks

This is what I understand about Australia. Their accent is so annoying. I like accents that people have from spanish cultures and accents from Europe but Australian accents are so annoying.

Never been there, but met a good few of it's inhabitants ( or parolees). Great blokes, always ready for a beer and a laugh (that includes the women). Can take a joke - like they are actually suave and sophisticated. Always look embarrassed when singing their National Anthem, which is not surprising when you think about it. Big country, hot. Lots of desert and forests. Strange animals. A country I would love to visit. You appear to have a love of life I rather admire.

I know someone that lives in Australia and she says they are taxed to death!!
