Without going into too much detail, its kinda like anywhere else (western countries). Notable difference I will point out: - Most schools host lunch time in their home rooms - Teachers rarely discipline bad behavior effectively - Most students take bus or train or obviously they walk, if they live within walking distance, I have never seen anyone dropped off at school, unless its a international school. - Sometimes you'll find teachers don't have teaching rooms they always teach in, they are prone to travel to different classes. - Extracurricular activities are just a must, everyone does them - After school hours you'll often see groups of school kids jogging around the street, especially in chiyoda ku, tokyo - Middle High school is more strict than high school - Girls in high school normally roll their skirts up, and boys unbutton their shirts - Schools in tokyo, don't know if anywhere else: Supply free milk lol. - Some schools don't have outdoor playing grounds, in break time, they just hang out in classes and hallways - SLeeping in class is very popular

Ok. When I was there, there were many people that turned a room in their apartment into an English tutor room, and tutored students that learned English. However, I think starting a whole school would be very difficult. Just a suggestion, but you could go over and teach English at a school where they already teach it. We had University students from America and England who came over for a year and taught for that time. They really enjoyed it. Good Luck

Most kids in Japan already learn English. If you have absolutely no clue whatsoever how to start this, you should probably get some experience teaching English in an already established school in Japan before you start thinking about starting your own.

About how much money is a school trip to japan (flight and hotel)
About how much money is a school trip to japan (flight and hotel)?
I'm in the Japanese club in my high school and we all want to go to Japan. But with the high gas prices its practically impossible. There is about 10-20 people in the club so are there any discounts available? About how much money would it be per person? Do you have any tips or suggestions for a good fundraiser? Also how much money should we carry for food and miscellaneous items? Thank you! sorry i forgot to mention we are in the US and we want to stay for about 1 week to 2 weeks correction: **we want to stay for about 1 or 2 weeks**

my suggestion is to stay at a hostel, they are much cheaper than hotels and the rates start from $50 per night and you can all sleep in the same room. the flight will be at least $1050 and up if you plan in advance or almost $2000. you should visit your nearest sta travel agent and let them help you with your travel if you plan to go with a group of 12 or more, usually they give out discounts especially when it's students traveling. when i was in high school, we usually had a plain old bakery sale or we would all make our own dishes and sell a portion for $1. Finally, if you want to have a good time here, you definitely need shopping, travel, food money, japan is so expensive and i use to live in new york city. you need at least another $1000 if you plan to stay for a week. you may want to save a cool $3000 for everything and bring walking shoes

When would be a good time to live in a Guesthouse in Japan? Like, when going to school? Or does it matter?
I heard that you don't have an address when you live in a Guesthouse. So, what sort of situation would be suitable for living in a Guesthouse? Would a long-term stay be okay? Thanks! Neither of you really know how to read a question, do you?

You can't stay in Japan for more than 90 days (if you are from US) without a visa. So you can't live in a guesthouse so long, anyway.
