What would happen to a Korean girl when she goes to Japan

What would happen to a Korean girl when she goes to Japan?
Because I have a friend who's Korean and she's going to Japan on a school trip in September (she's 15).. She's so.. Nervous? Because apparently Japanese HATE Koreans (or so I've heard) And she's been asking me so much its a little annoying I think its because of that little island that Japan and Korea's fighting over for and the historic stuff about how Japan took over Korea and raped the women and killed lots of people

i don't think there's anything she needs to be particularly worried about. Japanese people do not generally hate koreans, that's not true. As long as she's being polite etc, i think she'd have a good time there!
2 :
Well, Japanese don't hate Koreans, it's the other way around, Koreans hate Japanese. Also Koreans are extremely racist. This makes them believe crazy things like the Japanese are inherently evil and want to rape and kill all the Koreans, not unlike how NAZI believed stories about Jews with magical powers that stole and ate children. I'm just talking about actual Koreans, not Americans.
3 :
No one would even look twice at her.
4 :
There's nothing to worry about. I'm Korean and I frequently go to Japan. People might not really notice that she's Korean. Koreans are spread out in many places in Japan. And just like what the person above me said, Japanese don't hate Koreans as much as Koreans do. Even though I personally had a bad experience with some of them. This is the time to get over the past, forgive and forget.
5 :
You and the friend please worry about anything. The stupid leader at the time of the war was judged. The Japanese of the times of now accepts a non-humanitarian act by a cursed stupid leader at the time of the war. And to be a national level is the same human being except a country and culture and the difference of the leader. It says to have a preconception in the news and some critical opinions, and it is not a thing. I think that you cannot understand at the point in time of now, but my acquaintance comes to like Japan in a trip of one week, and he continue just living, and it is it in the tenth year. Please come to Japan by all means and want you to know a true Japanese citizen.
6 :
Ha ha, Koreans often assume that others think the same way as they do, and get paranoid, you know. Well, Japanese don't like or hate Koreans; actually, they're indifferent to the people. So, I don't think anything would happen if your friend behaved herself.
7 :
ha ha it's some funny question I guess you are like young!! japanese don't hate korean also they can't distinguish the girl whether korean or Chinese or japanese!! their appearance are similar don't worry anything. haha
8 :
It is wrong that not all Japanese hate Korean. The proof is myself who never hate Korean. Some of Japanese hate you, but most of us Japanese don't hate you Korean. I hate the people who hate someone because he is Korean. But now the group called Zaitoku kai[在特会] may be dangerous. Some of them have injured some Korean whose ancester came from Korea before. And some Japanese site and book are with discrimination for Korean. They are not much, If your friend come to Japan, I hope she doesn't feel sad because of them. And that I wrote under is my favor. If you have convenient time, please see it. Japan merged Korea and ruled Korea. It is truth. Korean government was forced to give diplomatic authority to Japan, and was not allowed to have military. Japan developed Korean infrastructure by their money, but many Korean started demonstration to pay money as Japan had spent. Now some Japanese say "Japan developed Korean infrastructure. But why do now many Korean hate Japan?" Thinking about their demonstration, many Korean in past never admited to ovey Japan. So if some Korean hate Japan, I think it natural. But read, please. Japan and Korea had an agreement in 1965 that Japan should pay so much money to Korea instead Japan must not apologize for merging Korea and crimes. I think many Korean don't know it because it is written that the agreement has been shown from 2005 in Korea in Wikipedia of Japan. A Korean with not knowing the agreement hate Japan because he thinks Japan never do anything as apologize. I think it is natural for him to hate Japan. Why there are some Japanese who dislike Korean is because they don't know the agreement was secret by recent days. But if the Korean who knows it increase, and the Japanese who knows the agreement was secret increase, I think Japan and Korea will have a good term more. So if you have a time that you don't have anything to do, could you please tell her that many Japanese never hate Korean and there is an agreement that reconcliation between Japan and Korea ?

Do teachers in Japan hit students

Do teachers in Japan hit students?
I was just wondering if teachers in Japan hit their students, or punish them badly. If anyone has been to a school in Japan, please tell me what you have viewed.

yes, seriously as an former exchange student aid, I have witnessed many accounts in my views as a personal punsihment. When I do something bad in Hong Kong, teachers wouldn't hit me or punish me they will look at me and smile and say "i fogive you" This is because im an American, and they think of American as money payee's. Seriously, hiting a kid is hard, but it makes them more displin as often as an average American kid would come in a package. They do it, rare occasions its not against the law or anything, the parents sign the forum displin my kids, they check yes. Its gets them out of trouble.
2 :
No they don't hit students that china
3 :
i dont think so
4 :
My friend, who teaches there, says no.
5 :
No. The most common punishment I've seen is having the student stand outside the classroom holding two pails of water. Which I think would suck more than getting two whacks on the bum. I think they have different techniques to deal with rowdy students, but hitting is not a common one that I hear about. I hear China and the Koreas still hit students with paddles and whatnot.
6 :
I am quite suret that it is not true now, but it was that way a long time ago. If it happens now, those would be a few isolated cases, and the teacher could get in trouble for it.
7 :
i think yes, in malaysia we even have public caning. i saw a teacher pulled a student(a girl) hair and drag her out... he's nuts, and the girl did nothing wrong. when i was in form 1 a teacher slap a student then he apologised the next day. do u think teacher have the right to hit students??
8 :
when i was young, i got hit almost everyday. got slapped in the face, hit with a ruler, chalk thrown at and also pinched in the chest. but it is rare now.
9 :
The simple answer is no. I've been teaching here for 4 years and I can say in any public institution kids are under no circumstances harmed in any way. Parent involvement in schools in also very high making it scary for teachers to do anything that might cost them their jobs.
10 :
There's always someone who just looses it, but such people exist everywhere in this world. If such thing happens, it becomes news, and the teacher's license is temporarily or permanently suspended. Also, the teacher usually pays huge amount to the family of the student he has hit, if they press charges against him. Generally, no, they don't hit students. Some teachers are caught molesting children, but I couldn't find anything in English http://www.nikkansports.com/general/f-gn-tp0-20070116-142980.html This article is in Japanese , but it says that a middle school teacher has had sexual relationship with 4 of his students, last year form May to October.
11 :
Yes and very hard !!!
12 :
Giving students corporal punishment by teachers are forbidding in Japan, but in reality some of them hit as discipline of children. If students and their parents report to the board of education, the teachers are imposed on some sort of punishment. I was used to be hit because of my mischievous behaviour. My parents paid no attention to my complaints. In my generation, majority of the parents would have anticipate their children to learn good manners as well as scholastic achievements. So, like my parents, some parents were not hesistate even if their dear children got a good beating from the teachers for the sake of becoming better person. But times have changed. Owing to recent glowing presses for terrible physical punishments, teachers are exposed to the manaces of the disciplinary acion. Students rarely get punched in the face.
13 :
no they don't hit students
14 :
I think no in some school. Well I have a friend from Japan, she's on high school and she said no, my school didn't did it. I think it depends from what school. Maybe some of the school did that, such as in China.
15 :
most teachers in any countries in Asia hit students, very hard. I seen once, after the teacher hit the student they said they want them to be good and they also think that they've done the right thing
16 :
I'm going to school in Japan right now. The teachers will tap the kids on the top of the head, but it's just as a joke. The students will bump into the teachers on purpose in the classroom, etc. It's only ever as a joke that either "hits" the other, and it's never hard enough to hurt.
17 :
Yes. In some cases blood is drawn. Some of my students have horror stories from their time in High school especially. I guess no one ever thought of suing.

well my dad is in the army national guard....i just asked him right now and he said that they do not...
2 :
Army Reserve (and all others) bases are in the U.S. None are overseas.
3 :
Along with the regular active-duty 9th TSC soldiers in Japan, the Army Reserve has about 15 Active Guard and Reserve, or AGR, soldiers at Camp Zama, making up the core of an advance party element for mobilizations called the "early entry module."
4 :
nope
5 :
No such animal. However there are Reserve Forces in Japan. When I was in Germany in the 70's there was a US Navy Reserve unit in Frankfurt, they are also Army Reserves there too.
6 :
there are no Reserve units Overseas. you might be allowed to do your 2 weeks AT OCONUS( had lots of Doctors, Nurses and HMs do so in Yokosuka while we lived there) but NOT your monthly drill. the High schools will have JROTC.. there are no ROTC units as there are no full college campuses on board. only satellite ones that offer a very limited curriculum.

How different are the schools in korea and japan compared to the US

How different are the schools in korea and japan compared to the US?
In the US, most schools have 6th, 7th and 8th grade for middle school. For highschool, we have four years; freshman, sophomore, junior and senior. Is it any different in asia? specifically Korea and Japan.
